Research Associate Malcolm Sawyer teaches at the Leeds University Business School, U.K.
He is managing editor of International Review of Applied Economics. A main research interest is the macroeconomic policies of the European Union, including development of alternative institutional frameworks. Another research interest concerns the analysis of fiscal policy, including developing the theoretical arguments on fiscal policy and evaluating episodes of fiscal consolidation. A further research interest is the analysis of the nature of money and the implications for monetary policy. Sawyer also critically analyses public/private partnership schemes in the United Kingdom.
Sawyer received a BA (Oxon) in mathematics from the University of Oxford and a M.Sc. in economics from the London School of Economics.
