Kijong Kim is a research associate in the Gender Equality and the Economy program. His current research interests lie in distributional impact analyses of public employment guarantee programs and other fiscal policies; social care investment; gender-oriented macromodeling; and the application of time-use data to economic analysis. Recent research includes time-income poverty measures and employment policy simulations for South Korea; input-output analysis and microsimulation of early childhood care and education in Turkey and of the employment impacts of an expanded public works program in South Africa and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in the United States; analyses of household responses to recession using time-use and consumption surveys; and a distributional impact assessment of US climate change policy.

Kim has taught microeconomics, macroeconomics, and environmental economics at the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University in Tbilisi, Georgia; and the Bard Center for Environmental Policy. He holds a BS in economics from Korea University and a Ph.D. in applied economics from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities.
